The Path to Integrating Schools
Linda Brown’s walk to school was long and treacherous. Even though a white school and busing system was nearby, she was forced to walk four miles to a bus for black students. This caused her father, Oliver Brown, and others to file a lawsuit against the Topeka Board of Education with the help of the NAACP. They eventually won the case at the Supreme Court level. Brown v Board of Education would change history, and begin to put an end to the Jim Crow era.
