The Doll Test
In the 1940’s, psychologists Kenneth and Mamie Clark gave children two dolls, one black, and one white. They had children choose the doll they preferred. This became known as the doll test, with the results proving prejudice toward blacks. This test proved to the court segregation was affecting even the minds of the young making white children feel superior in comparison to blacks. It proved change was necessary.
