Short Term Impact
The Supreme Court ordered that schools become integrated with “all deliberate speed”. However, it took a very long time for schools to become integrated, and even longer for people to accept the fact their children would be in the same classroom as black children. While schools were becoming integrated, many things were still segregated. For example, sports and clubs within the integrated schools and hospitals were still segregated.
